Protecting Bears from Poachers, Birdfeeders, and More

Evidence about the black bear hunting and trapping are found around the world. Bears are mostly hunted for their gall bladder to meet the demand of traditional chinese medicines in countries like Pakistan, Malaysia, India, and Nepal. In Asia, gall bladder and Bear paws are mostly seen products in the illegal wildlife market. Help Ashville Bears (HAB) are working on to stop illegal poaching of Bears and other animals through conservation, education, rescue operations, and rehabilitation.

Jody Williams is a Bear behaviorist from the Help Ashville Bears (HAB). They have been dedicated to protecting the bears from illegal poaching and trapping. They raise awareness about the bears being seen around with missing legs. HAB is a privately funded and are non- profit. They are the team of multi- range professional in South Ashville who advocates on illegal bear trapping around the globe. They raise voice against the selling of Bear by products that is promoting Bear hunting indirectly. In addition to this, they are working on to stop the selling of Bear attractants, traps, snares, and any other hunting equipment in local stores.

In this episode, we will hear from Jody Williams on their exceptionally courageous work to conserve bears from illegal poaching and trapping.
