This week we explore the topic of human-caused species extinctions. We start with the stunning Haast's eagle and the moas it preyed upon, which went extinct in the 1300-1400s. The Tasmanian tiger and ivory-billed woodpecker went extinct just recently enough that there is existing video footage, which we watch on the episode. We conclude with a quick run-through of some of the 23 species declared extinct earlier this year in the U.S.
